giga is a SIM-only brand that lives in its app: signing up, activating, tracking your data, grabbing roaming packs and add-ons, getting help on 24/7 chat. No shops, no contracts, and your plan renews every 30 days until you say stop.

What Is GOMO?

GOMO is Singtel's digital SIM-only brand, sold online with no shops and no contracts. It markets its whole range as 5G+, and on most tiers pairs your Singapore data with a matching regional allowance.

What Is SIMBA?

SIMBA runs its own network instead of renting capacity, which makes it Singapore's fourth mobile operator. It sells SIM-only plans in 30-day and 90-day blocks, all of them 5G and all eSIM-enabled.

Network Coverage

SIMBA operates its own 4G and 5G network rather than renting capacity. It's the newest of the four, so it's had the least time to build out, and if you spend a lot of your day in basements, tunnels or older buildings, that's where you'd notice it.

SIM-only Plans and Pricing

SIMBA sells in 30-day and 90-day blocks rather than per calendar month. Every plan carries unlimited calls to Singapore mobiles, unlimited local SMS, free voice roaming, and rollover of data and talk time.

What Each Plan Includes

Data Rollover

giga rolls your unused data forward on every plan it sells, 4G included. On monthly 5G plans it carries for two more cycles and your balance can reach double the plan size, so 800GB becomes 1.6TB. Six-month plans carry one cycle. Wherever your base data works, your rollover data works too.

SIMBA rolls over unused data and talk time for up to six cycles. Its plans are blocks you buy and re-buy, so anything banked depends on you buying the next one in time.

Where rollover exists you're drawing down a balance rather than a fresh allocation, so you hit the limit less often. None of the three publishes an excess-usage rate, so the answer is an add-on pack, and GOMO's unlimited tiers sidestep the question under a fair usage policy.

Roaming

Two different things get called roaming here, and it helps to separate them. First, the roaming allowance: a separate pot you draw on abroad.

giga: an Asia allowance covering Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, India and South Korea, from 8GB to 16GB, plus international across 48 destinations, from 6GB to 12GB. Both refresh every month for as long as you hold the plan, and they never expire.

GOMO: an Asia allowance across 24 destinations, from 6GB to 36GB by tier, plus a worldwide one across 210 destinations, from 3GB to 18GB.

SIMBA: a global allowance across more than 60 countries, from 3GB to 15GB, plus an APAC one from 5GB to 80GB, and free voice roaming.

Second, your ordinary plan data. On all three it also works in a few nearby countries without touching that roaming pot at all.

giga: the 400GB, 500GB and 1TB plans cover Singapore and Malaysia, gigaFLEX+ adds Indonesia and Thailand, and only the 300GB plan is Singapore-only.

GOMO: your Singapore allowance is matched by one across Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan and Australia.

Network Performance

This is the part that really is about coverage and speed. Opensignal measures real handsets in real places instead of repeating what each telco says about itself, reporting on the host networks: StarHub for giga, Singtel for GOMO, and SIMBA's own. Video Experience: StarHub won outright again, at 74.3 points out of 100 against Singtel's 73.2 and SIMBA's 66.7.

5G Download: StarHub shared the award with M1 on a statistical tie, at 302.4 Mbps against Singtel's 294.8 Mbps and SIMBA's 39.0 Mbps.

5G Availability: Singtel won this one, at 79.9% against StarHub's 70.0% and SIMBA's 31.4%.

Games Experience: StarHub shared the award with Singtel, at 88.1 points against Singtel's 88.3 and SIMBA's 81.2.

StarHub, the network under your giga line, took both speed awards and Video outright. Singtel took Best Network overall on reliability and consistent quality. SIMBA sits well behind on the speed and 5G measures, which is worth weighing against its prices.

5G Access

All three sell 5G. giga is the only one that still sells 4G as well, at $10.90 and $12.90, with everything from $15.90 up on 5G. SIMBA's entire range is 5G and GOMO markets its whole range as 5G+, so there's no 4G tier to step down to on either. Plans and Flexibility

giga sells monthly plans, plus six-month plans that hand you the whole pool upfront, which suits travel that comes in bursts. The $109.90 plan gives you 3TB, 66GB of Asia roaming and 48GB of international roaming, yours to manage across the six months however you like. GOMO sells monthly plans only. SIMBA sells 30-day and 90-day blocks, where the 90-day version saves you $6.

giga is postpaid, so your plan renews on its own and your rollover carries forward without you lifting a finger. Where a plan is sold as a block you buy and re-buy, the renewal is on you, and anything you've banked depends on you buying the next block in time.

eSIM

All three support eSIM. Every giga plan is eSIM-enabled, so you can set it up from the app without waiting for anything to arrive. Number Porting

Singapore has had full mobile number portability since 2008, regulated by IMDA. Your number is yours. It moves with you between any of these three, and you don't need your current telco's permission to leave.
